Dr Ian Balfour-Lynn is a paediatric respiratory consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital (since 1997). He works in one of the UK’s premier paediatric respiratory units, situated within one of the largest UK postgraduate specialist heart and lung centres. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. He specialises in all aspects of paediatric respiratory medicine – namely any condition that affects a child’s lungs and airways. This may be manifest in a number of ways, most commonly noisy breathing (wheeze, croup), cough, breathlessness or difficulty breathing, and recurrent chest infections. He is married with two grown up children.
