I qualified from University College London and Westminster Medical School (University of London) in 1982. I trained in general paediatrics at Westminster Children’s Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital Roehampton, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Northwick Park Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The majority of my specialist respiratory training was at Great Ormond Street Hospital where I worked in a number of departments including respiratory medicine, intensive care, infection and immunology, and heart-lung transplantation. I also spent 2 years in full time research for an MD thesis (awarded 1993) at the Hammersmith Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital. I am on the specialist register for Paediatrics (6.5.96) and fully accredited in Paediatrics with a special interest in respiratory disease.. He is married with two grown up children.
